I'm Daniel Benzaken, a Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker at RE/MAX Edge. I hold the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) designation — advanced training built specifically for guiding older adults and their families through major housing transitions.
Since July 2017, I've specialized in life-transition real estate across South Brooklyn: helping seniors downsize comfortably after decades in one home, guiding families through estate and probate sales, representing out-of-state sellers managing Brooklyn property from a distance, and navigating co-op transactions through board approval.
The situations I work through aren't always straightforward: tenants in place who aren't paying rent, co-op violations and pending special assessments, estate sales tied up in probate, divorce proceedings running for years, and properties that sat unsold with another agent.
I know what these transitions feel like from both sides. I managed my mother's estate after she passed in 2021 — the property, the contractors, the paperwork, the decisions — while grieving. That experience is central to how I show up for every client going through something similar.
I grew up in Gravesend and have lived in six Brooklyn neighborhoods across 40+ years — Gravesend, Bergen Beach, Park Slope, Mill Basin, Midwood, and Manhattan Beach, where I live today. When I tell you I know Sheepshead Bay, Marine Park, Bensonhurst, or Gravesend, I mean it in the way that only comes from 40 years of living here, not from reading a market report.
I'm a member of three MLSs: Brooklyn MLS, OneKey MLS and REBNY RLS. I price from comparable sales across all three, and your listing reaches buyers on each from day one.
I'm a certified Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) and Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA). Every listing I take is priced from real neighborhood data and structured to protect your net proceeds.
